This virtual 6-hour PROSPER training for Wyoming public health nurses provides practical, evidence-based skills to help nurses recognize suicide risk, respond with confidence and compassion, and support safety during routine interactions, home visits, and community outreach.

Learning Objectives
• Assess suicide risk in 8 to 10 minutes.
• Adopt language for suicidal people that is respectful and non-judgmental.
• Collaboratively devise a crisis response plan that may reduce suicide attempts by 76 percent.
• Discuss ambivalence and reasons for living with individuals.
• Assist adults and youths with suicidal symptoms in a collaborative, empowering way that reflects their values and priorities.
• Provide brief interventions to deactivate the suicidal mode.
