The PROSPER training programs equip individuals from all backgrounds to lead suicide prevention efforts in their own communities. Whether you're a healthcare professional, educator, first responder, civil servant, supervisor, elected official, faith leader, or engaged community member, no experience is required—just a commitment to connection, learning, and supporting others.

Trainings are offered both virtually and in person, with no need to travel. Once certified, you’ll join a national network of PROSPER Facilitators and Trainers and receive curriculum updates informed by the latest research and best practices.

Understanding the Roles

PROSPER Facilitator: Certified to deliver the PROSPER curriculum (Prevention, Intervention, and/or Postvention) in schools, clinics, first responder units, workplaces, and community settings.

Train-the-Trainer (T3): An advanced role for experienced Facilitators. Trainers are certified to mentor, evaluate, and train others while maintaining fidelity to PROSPER standards

All The Tools You Need To Build A Successful How to Become a PROSPER Facilitator

 

Step 1: Observe & Participate
Attend at least two PROSPER trainings and meet with a PROSPER Master Trainer to discuss goals and learning intentions.

Step 2: Review Materials
Study the facilitator agreement, curriculum, guides, and participant resources.

Step 3: Co-Teach with Support
Co-facilitate a session with a certified trainer and receive coaching and feedback.

Step 4: Evaluation & Coaching
Be evaluated using a standardized tool and continue receiving coaching until you’re confident to lead independently.

Step 5: Lead & Inspire
Begin delivering trainings that help strengthen your community’s capacity for support and connection.
