Lance Neiberger

Lance Neiberger is a prominent suicide prevention advocate and mental health leader based in Casper, Wyoming. A petroleum engineer by trade, he turned to advocacy following the tragic loss of his 17-year-old son, Lyle, to suicide in 2006.

For nearly two decades, Neiberger has dedicated himself to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in a state that historically faces some of the nation's highest suicide rates. As a long-standing member and former chairman of the Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force, he frequently conducts community outreach, facilitates support groups for survivors of suicide loss, He also teaches QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) crisis intervention training.

What began with Dr. Kent Corso’s vision to bridge research and practice has grown into a global network of advocates, experts, and communities united in preventing suicide. Since 2016, PROSPER has reached thousands—including healthcare providers, educators, first responders, faith leaders, and community members—connecting diverse people in a shared mission of hope and resilience.

In 2024, more than 1,500 participants reported significant improvements in their confidence, competence, and comfort supporting those in distress.
