Learning Objectives
This training is designed for Medical and Mental Health Clinicians, Crisis Staff, and leadership-level professional networks. The session provides evidence-based skills in suicide risk assessment and decision-making, enhancing competence, confidence, and comfort in supporting at-risk individuals while fostering personal resilience and collaboration.
- Use respectful, nonjudgmental language when speaking with individuals at risk for suicide.
- Collaboratively assist adults and youths with suicidal symptoms in ways aligned with their values and priorities.
- Conduct a suicide risk assessment in 8 to 10 minutes.
- Explore ambivalence and reasons for living with individuals at risk.
- Develop a collaborative Crisis Response Plan, proven to reduce attempts by up to 76%.
- Provide brief interventions to deactivate the suicidal mode.
