PROSPER Privacy Policy 

Information Collection
We collect personal information when you register for PROSPER training or participate in our programs. The information we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other identifying details required to provide access to training, verify participation, and issue certificates of completion. Additional information may include, but is not limited to, demographic data, age, gender, occupation, education level, organization, or professional affiliation. We may also collect information through surveys, forms, correspondence, or other participation activities as required by accrediting bodies, research partners, or sponsoring organizations.

Before and after training, participants may be asked to complete surveys that may include, but are not limited to, questions about knowledge of suicide prevention, confidence in helping others, comfort discussing suicide, attitudes toward mental health, and related experiences. These surveys are used to evaluate training effectiveness, support research and program improvement, and meet reporting or compliance requirements established by institutional review boards or funding partners.

Data Usage

Information collected may include, but is not limited to, data used for processing registration, providing course access, verifying eligibility, tracking progress, issuing certificates, and managing continuing education credits. Data may also be used for legitimate organizational purposes such as research, evaluation, communication, compliance, program development, and quality assurance. Aggregate and non-identifying information may be analyzed to assess overall program outcomes, support external reporting, or enhance future offerings.

Continuing Education Credits

When continuing education credit is offered, PROSPER may collect additional information required to verify eligibility, issue certificates, and report credit to licensing or accrediting bodies. This may include, but is not limited to, your professional license number, state of licensure, occupation, and credentialing organization. Information is shared only as necessary with the appropriate accrediting or regulatory body for verification, documentation, or compliance purposes.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Your personal information may be accessible to authorized PROSPER staff and, when applicable, to partner organizations, contractors, or agencies assisting in training delivery, research, or accreditation. Shared data may include, but are not limited to, administrative records, survey data, or information required for certification, compliance, or reporting. All shared information is managed under confidentiality agreements or equivalent protections. PROSPER does not sell personal information for commercial or marketing purposes.

Data Security

All data are stored securely using administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. Storage systems may include, but are not limited to, secure servers, encrypted databases, or approved cloud-hosting providers that comply with data protection standards. Whenever feasible, identifying information is stored separately from survey or evaluation data to protect participant confidentiality.

Access to Your Information

Participants may request to review, correct, or remove their personal information by contacting [email protected]. Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable laws, record-retention requirements, and any obligations established by partner institutions or accrediting bodies.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in program operations, research activities, accreditation standards, or applicable legal requirements. Updates may include, but are not limited to, revisions to data collection, storage, or sharing practices. Any updates will be posted on this page, and continued participation in PROSPER programs constitutes acceptance of the most current version.
