The WIVPP coordinates statewide efforts to prevent injury and violence—including suicide—through awareness, training, and system change. While the program does not offer emergency services, it plays a key role in advancing prevention strategies across Wyoming.

Wyoming offers free, evidence-based trainings to help individuals recognize and respond to suicide risk. In-person sessions are available statewide through a network of certified trainers. Programs include Gatekeeper Training and more.

Wyoming is proud to participate in the national Governor’s Challenge, a joint initiative by SAMHSA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to reduce suicide among SMVF populations. This effort brings together state leaders, communities, and local organizations to implement evidence-based strategies and build stronger systems of support.
